Discovery of Pluto

The planet Pluto was discovered on February 18, 1930, by Clyde Tombaugh at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona.

On August 24, 2006, members of the International Astronomical Union decided that Pluto is NOT a real planet, but merely a dwarf planet. Here’s a fun Flash animation that my son made about Pluto’s plight…
