Your Country Depends on YOUR Vote!

“You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man’s age-old dream, the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order, or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism.” ~Ronald Reagan’s “A Time for Choosing” Speech, 1964

We teach our kids in social studies that it’s every American citizen’s civic duty to vote. So have YOU voted lately? Throughout history, elections have been won or lost by simply one vote per precinct! Too much is at stake this time not to show up at the polls. The two candidates for President not only have stark policy differences, but whoever wins will likely nominate two Supreme Court Justices. The results of this election could set the nation’s course for a generation and beyond.

What’s more, there are critical decisions to be made about who will serve in Congress. In addition, there are gubernatorial elections, races for state legislatures, important judicial contests and local ballot initiatives. Many critical issues are facing our nation today: unemployment, economic decline, corruption, immorality, the sanctity of human life, the definition of marriage, and growing hostility to religious expression.

While we all like to vote for the candidates whose personal standards, record of public service, campaign pledges and party platform are most consistent with our own convictions, no politician or political party will ever agree with our views perfectly. Sometimes the array of contenders provide for less than desirable choices. But dissatisfaction with available candidates is never a legitimate excuse not to vote.

The ultimate question is, “Who will end up being chosen?” Because either by voting or not voting, voters will still make a choice – for better or for worse. Standing firm on your principles while watching the ship go down may be noble, but it’s a fool’s errand in politics.

How About YOU? Are You Registered to Vote? Several states have voter registration deadlines as soon as October 6—just a few short weeks from now. Your future and the future of your children are at stake. America’s future depends on your vote! Make sure you’re registered to vote and find out where to go by calling the appropriate number listed below.
