Clergy Appreciation Month

Did You Know…? About 42,500 people serve as clergy in the United States. (Source: Occupational Employment Statistics, May 2011.)

October is Clergy Appreciation Month, and with “National Care for Pastors Sunday” coming up next weekend, Christians are being encouraged to shower their pastors with love. The event is typically held on the second Sunday of October, but can be held at any time that is convenient for the church and the community. The celebration was established in 1992 with a mission of uplifting and encouraging pastors, missionaries, and religious workers. An event planning guide is available on the National Care for Pastors Sunday website. Focus on the Family has also developed a Clergy Appreciation Month Planning Guide and additional resources.
