Hobbies… Hobbies… Hobbies

Did you know…? Hobby Lobby Appreciation Day is tomorrow, October 12!

A hobby is an amateur activity or pastime that is undertaken during one’s leisure time rather than as a profession or career. There are many different hobbies for just about every interest. Some people pursue their hobbies on a daily basis while others do them only occasionally. One of the nice things about a hobby is that you can expand or contract the amount of time and money you invest in it based on what you want to learn or achieve. Some of the most popular hobbies include:

Watching TV/movies

Playing team sports, golf or bowling
Computer activities (playing video games, surfing the net, blogging)
Exercise (aerobics, weights, walking, running, swimming)

Horizon Hobby is an employee-owned company made up of over 700 people who are all passionate about helping people around the world have fun with hobbies. They specialize in radio-controlled planes, helicopters, cars, trucks, and boats. Their corporate headquarters, along with the main distribution facility and product service center, are located in Champaign, Illinois. The company’s mission is “To see the world impacted by God through the influence of Horizon and its people.” Through Horizon’s “Hobbies for Good,” the company and its employees extend their time, talents and resources to serve others and engage in meaningful causes in the community at large. They have donated radio controlled cars, helicopters, airplanes, boats and model trains to help numerous charitable organizations raise money for great causes. They also send products overseas to help our active military men and women relax in their much deserved time off.
