Made in the USA Christmas Challenge

You know what’s on your Christmas list. You know your budget. But if you want to find products that are made in the USA, lots of luck. Whether it’s toys for children, clothing for teenagers, or a gadget for your spouse, it can be difficult tracking down items made right here in America. Why spend a large percentage of your hard-earned gift dollars overseas? American businesses need help, and it would be nice to support the local economy.

That is why Patriot Voices has unveiled the Made in the USA Christmas Challenge. They want you to take the challenge and buy as many Christmas and holiday presents as you can that are made right here in the U.S. There are lots of ways you can get involved:

  1. First, visit the Patriot Voices special Made in the USA Christmas Challenge webpage to take the challenge. Be mindful of who’s made what you’re buying and make an extra effort in your gift-giving to help US-based companies.  Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, we can all agree that buying products made here at home makes sense.
  2. Then, download and print our Made in the USA Christmas information flyer to share with friends and neighbors, or even to drop off at your favorite local retailer!
  3. And lastly, make sure you sign up to receive texts from Patriot Voices so you can keep informed about the Challenge. Signing up is easy! Just text CHRISTMAS to 67463, and they’ll immediately send you a reply text with more information. (Message and data rates may apply).

And throughout this next month, when you find a great Made in the USA gift or website, please share with the rest of us by posting in the Patriot Voices Forums.

“Buying Made in USA is not just a passing trend. It truly is something we as consumers, business owners and even government can do to support small to mid-size businesses,” said Julie Reiser, president and co-founder of Made in USA Certified, which audits supply chains for businesses that want their products to bear their seal.

“Small businesses are responsible for two out of every three new jobs created in the U.S. We need these small to mid-size businesses to flourish and grow as they are our innovators, our makers and job creators. Making it in America, supporting U.S. manufacturing and buying American is one thing we can all do today to help keep the American dream alive and well.”

You can help turn things around this season. Take the Patriot Voices Made in the USA Christmas Challenge. Simply decide to spend as much of your gift-giving budget as you can on items made in this country, rather than those manufactured in other countries.  Help make this a Red White and Blue Christmas! Here are some places to get started:

The Made in America Store – A great store based in my old hometown of Elma, NY! It’s the only brick-and-mortar general merchandise store in the country that sells 100% American Made Products, down to the packaging. You can order online, too.

Made in USA Forever – Based in San Clemente CA, about halfway between LA and San Diego, Made in USA was founded by Todd Lipscomb to provide an easy, fun way to buy products made in the USA. Over 3800 products, all made in the USA!

Made in the USA Products Directory – was created to provide consumers with an easy to use and highly accessible means of finding products made in America. Browse by category, type your key words into the box, and you can even search for products made in your state!

10 Products Surprisingly Still Made in America – 24/7 Wall St. compiled a list of 10 highly visible American brands that are still made in the States. All of the products are well known to consumers. While most are market leaders, what makes them unique is that the competition manufactures their products abroad — or they’re the only game in town.
