Why the World Didn’t End Yesterday

For years, reports were circulating about an ancient Mayan prophecy that named December 21, 2012 as the day the world would come to an end. According to NASA, just because one cycle of the Mayan calendar ended on a certain day didn’t mean the Earth would cease to exist. “This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period,” stated NASA, “but then — just as your calendar begins again on January 1 — another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.” NASA made the following video to be released today:
