Scholastic is much more than just a book club! is a comprehensive, fun, and educational online hub where you can spend hours accessing interesting and engaging content for grades pre-K to 12. offers thousands of free lesson plans, unit studies, discussion guides, and student activities across all subjects and grade levels from pre-K to 12. Search by subject, topic, keyword, or browse the index.

You will also find thousands of ready-to-go book lists arranged by topic, grade and reading level, which you can then take to your local library for free access to the materials.

The main page shows top news stories, featured books and authors, fun facts of the day, teaching tools, free downloadable materials, and a Book Wizard for finding just the right books.

On the drop-down menu bar, you can click on Resources and Tools for grab-and-go lesson plans, discussion guides, printables, freebies, and videos.

A Planning Calendar contains historic events, holidays, special days, lessons, and resources that make it easy to include teachable moments pertinent to each school day.

Students can play interactive online activities, read Student News, browse the index of student activities, or search for activities by subject, topic, or keyword. There are research starters, writing activities, social studies WebQuests, science activities, math and problem-solving activities, and StudyJams. (StudyJams is a collection of over 200 math and science learning videos/step-by-step explanations/slide shows along with key vocabulary and a test yourself section.)

Teachers, parents, and homeschoolers will find a wide variety of useful resources. NOTE: The site does push Scholastic products, but you should be able to find many of the books at your local library.
