Science News for Kids (SNK) is an award-winning online publication dedicated to children ages 9-14, their parents, and teachers. SNK offers timely news stories and features written by a staff of professional science journalists and editors, covering all areas of science. Categories include: Atoms & Forces, Earth & Sky, Humans & Health, Agriculture & Animals, Dinosaurs & Fossils, Tech & Math.
SNK was launched in 2003 by the nonprofit organization Society for Science & the Public (SSP) as a youth edition and companion to SSP’s award-winning flagship magazine, Science News. SNK content is selected from Science News, and tailored to be more accessible and interesting for a middle-school audience.
Young people interested in science are encouraged to visit the SNK site regularly to find:

-Suggestions for hands-on activities, books, articles, and web resources
-Coverage of the world’s leading math and science competitions for youth
–Additional resources and programs for kids
SNK also has a page of resources for parents to help their children use science news, and to learn more about how to compete in SSP educational competitions.
